Car bomb kills dozens in Syria

A car bomb killed as many as 60 people and wounded dozens more Friday in northwestern Syria, Turkish state media and activist groups said.

FG probes death of two Queen’s College students

Isaac Adewole, minister of health, has set up a team to probe the deaths of two students of Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos.

Dollar falls to N490 on CBN action

Dani Alves: Barcelona directors 'have no idea how to treat their players'

Dani Alves has criticised Barcelona's board for showing him no respect during his final three seasons with the club.

The full-back left Barca on a free for Juventus last summer despite having only signed a new two-year contract the year before.

However, Alves said he made sure that deal had a clause written into it which would allow him to leave for free after the first year of the terms so he could play Josep Maria Bartomeu and his board at their own game.

Sanusi: Kano to outlaw forced marriages, regulate polygamy

Muhammadu Sanusi II, emir of Kano, has said a family law will soon be put in place to outlaw forced marriages in the state.

He said the law will also recommend certain conditions to be met before a man can marry a second wife.

Brussels (CNN)Even as he worked to assure European leaders that the Trump administration isn't looking to scrap longstanding transatlantic ties, Vice President Mike Pence was met with outward skepticism from the bloc's top leaders on Monday.
Speaking after talks with European Council President Donald Tusk, Pence offered a conciliatory tone, insisting that bonds between the United States and Europe would endure.
But Tusk himself was more blunt. Even while expressing an optimistic outlook, he acknowledged the bilateral ties had entered new, uncertain territory.
"Thank you for this meeting. We all truly needed it," Tusk said after he walked on stage with Pence. "Too much has happened over the past months in your country, and in the EU; too many new and sometimes surprising opinions have been voiced over this time about our relations -- and our common security -- for us to pretend that everything is as it used to be."
